Boring Walls Be Gone
Being the proud owners of a cookie cutter new construction condo we have our fair share of walls that are super boring looking. A big part of me wants to spend a weekend gluing beveled mirror tiles to a one of these walls to give the place a little added interest. But then what would happen 5 years from now when it was time to sell and those tiles were rather permanently attached to the wall? I think the Axis Mirror from Z Gallerie is the perfect solution. Its huge and pretty awesome looking and would not have to be a permanent fixture. The only drawback is that the bottom edge must remain firmly planted on theground because it weighs a zillion pounds. That a bummer but something I think I can work with.

Oh, that is beautiful. I see that it is like a wall mirror, but without a frame, and quite heavy. Can you check it out in person to see just how sparkly it is? I do like the octagional shapes.
So, I’ve been thinking more about this and I don’t think it really needs to go on the floor. It just needs to rest on something. Maybe I could put it above a buffet, mount it to the wall and let the bottom rest on the buffet. Thoughts on this?
I think some of the flat screen tv’s are really heavy and they frequently sit on a piece of furniture. I don’t see why that wouldn’t work with this. Its so pretty!
Hmmm, 145lbs is A LOT of weight to place on a wall/lean on a buffet. You could talk to a contractor to confirm your plan. Sometimes they can add blocking or kitchen metal (used for cabinets) behind the wall to support the extra weight.
Kitchen metal! I was wondering about that but had no idea what it was called! Thanks, Karen. This will also require me to move a light switch but that doesn’t seem like it should be too difficult.
