More Fun Times at the Mall

February 7th, 2010

Today I employed what I thought was a brilliant bit of crowd avoidance- shopping at the mall in the suburbs during the superbowl.  It was surprisingly ineffective.  I guess I should have waited it out until halftime.

Color Block Satin Dress

Ann Taylor was just full of Ann Taylor clothes as per usual, work wear, wedding guest/graduation dresses, some ruffly shells, and lo and behold this dress, which I love!  It is on sale for 99$.  This picture is not really doing it justice- the seaming is all on the outside and visible in front, and it is truly a super bright acid yellow on the front and GRAY on the back, with gray piping and an exposed metal zipper.  I really, really, wanted to buy this dress, but it just wasn’t working for me.  Maybe if I brought my real spanx instead of just my mental spanx (squinting at myself in the mirror) I could have brought this home.  It is a rather unforgiving thin clingy fabric.  But so pretty.

This kelly green striped  dress from the Limited is pretty cute, actually, again, cuter than this picture.  It caused me to break my zombie-like walk by the limited window and go inside. I don’t normally have much use for the Limited.

College Ruled Tee

So after lots of fitting room time, mainly adjusting my mental spanx, I finally bought just one item other than a michael stars tshirt on sale at Anthropologie- a spring weight coat from where else, Zara.  If you can’t find something to buy at Zara you should just go home because you don’t want to shop!

Wow, I really like that green striped dress, but isn’t it sort of a blatant copy of this one from Anthro last year?!! http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=930035&navAction=jump&navCount=

You must put on your real spanx and try the yellow dress again. Where there’s a will there’s a way.

wow that is a blatant rip off. I thought I had seen something similar from a more expensive store, but I was thinking Kate Spade. seriously it is exactly the same.

Th anthro dress looks a little shorter but I like the bow in the back much better.
