Mama Mio
Mio, the company that makes those cute cork houndstooth panels has a line out at Target, and although it is pretty limited (there are only 6 whole items it looks like) there are textured wall tiles available, and are one whole cent less than the ones on the MIO site. Now I’m seeing they are only available online from Target so I don’t know what the benefit of that would be. But moving on, that’s not my point, my point is that they have a lovely green vermicomposter which really seems to step up the design factor of what is essentially a worm farm. That’s right, WORMS. You can also use it as a stylish bedside table and never be lonely. Really this is actually great for your garden and will help you out-green all of your friends. It is $99, which may seem like a lot but is actually an ok price for a worm composter, and you can’t really put a price on making worms and rotting food look cute.
I also came across this large bird damask pattern bed from Dwell, not sure how I missed this pattern before but I love it!

Bloggerrhea
Bloggerrhea \blȯ-gə-ˈrē-ə, ˌlä-\ Function: noun Etymology: New Latin Date: circa May 2009: our excessive and often incoherent talkativeness or wordiness relating to blogs we like to read. We are testing out a new name for our regular Saturday links post. As always, your comments are welcome. We like this new title because (i) its punny and (ii) it reminds us of poo, which we find hilarious. Now back to the links! I have always been a fan of chalkboard paint but when a whole wall of chalkboard seems like too much try these chalkboard wall stickers that we found thanks to Apartment Therapy. While the paint seems perfect for a child’s room the sticker version could work easily in a more grownup space.

Still Amazed
I am continually amazed by the sheer number of different stripe combinations/colors they have at Dash and Albert, and by the prices- about $350 for an 8by10 coton rug! It’s good to pull up your winter rugs this time of year and these cotton ones are a great replacement.

Restoration Hardware carries many thing that I do not consider a bargain, however their bathroom fixtures are a major exception to this rule. I’m not saying they are cheap but they are very reasonable considering the quality. I’ve been dreaming of replacing the not so attractive sconces in our bathroom with these cade double sconces which are on sale right now for $183. Aren’t these beautiful. I love that they are halogen. Bathrooms should NEVER have flourescent lighting. Flourescent bulbs make everyone look like the incredible hulk. Right now all lighting at Restoration Hardware is 20% off. That gives me hope, to carry on.

Hello all! I have been waiting to mention these little Marais USA flat MaryJanes for weeks and weeks. They hadn’t been available but I just stumbled on a real live pair for sale at Urban Outfitters and ran right over to the site to confirm they are available to we internet shoppers! These patent flats have a wide elastic mary jane strap and a long graceful opening that looks like it will expose a little toe crack, which helps flats not look clunky. Best of all they come in good colors like cobalt blue, brown and flesh pink. They are 58$.

I noticed a woman wearing this necklace in yellow when we were out for drinks a few nights ago. It was so striking that I had to go running right over to ask where it came from. Turns out its from Anthropologie and is only $48. I know! I couldn’t believe it either! I don’t think the picture adequately conveys the enormity of this necklace. Its is huge but in a very good way. In a way that says its not that my necklace is huge, its just that I’m very very slender. Seriously. This is the perfect inexpensive fix for all of my many lackluster summer outfits!

The frilly flora and fauna motif from those tyvek Tord Boontje bulb covers (and curtains, furniture, and a bunch of other stuff) are now available in jewelery form- these thin gold charms come in little sets of three that range from $27 to 40$ each. It looks like you are to provide a cord or what have you to string them on. And see how one of them (the bulbous one in the middle- also shown in package four) is bendable into a little three dimensional pouch, just like the lights. You could get a set to share among friends, sisters, or bridesmaids, how cute.

I know that Chilwich makes placemats but did you know that they also make wallpaper? Its called Plynyl. It basically an indestructible grass cloth. Or at least it looks like a grasscloth but when you get close up (really, really close) you can tell its something even better because its vinyl. Plynyl comes in a variety of textures and colors. There’s even a woodgrain version. This seems perfect for a bathroom, mud room or even a kitchen backsplash. Btw, they also make a floor covering which I think could be a cool alternative to tile in the bathroom.

Hi Everybody, I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend! We went to my parent’s house today and babymouse got to run all over the beach like a wild man and got his shoes all wet and sandy, and my mother made two kinds of brownies, so I’m happy.
I love this red rattan shelf, it is for a child’s room but could definitely be kept forever and used in different parts of the house. I like how it looks like skateboards and a pagoda at the same time. I need to take a good look around this store, it looks like it has so many cute things. I saw it on Oh Joy.
The Tracy Feith collection is out at Target, I saw it in person the other day and can attest that it is BRIGHTLY colored. I love bright fabric, especially for sundresses, but the one really super bright flowered dress in this line has fluttery sleeves that I thought put it over the top. Make that strapless and you could count me in. See what I mean:
This little top is good though I think, I like the orange and blue. Although the lace looks a little like a pitchfork is being held to her chest. Maybe just to me.
Also all the Loomstate stuff seems to be on clearance! I love Target clearance, some things are less than take out.
CityMouse turned me on to Canadian House and Home, and it truly is an awesome decorating magazine, but expensive, since it has to come all the way from, never mind just expensive for no reason. I also love British Homes and Gardens for the way it reassures me that flowered chintz really is awesome, but it is legitimately expensive, like almost 10$. crazy. Anyway Canadian House and Home has a good list/advice on what to look for at flea markets. I saw this on Apartment Therapy. I personally always make a bee line for anything that is in a pair (beds, lamps, chairs) at flea markets because it is hard for me to find matching pairs of things I can afford elsewhere.
The Conran Shop has a fun little summer section. Lots of the the quirky modern high end stuff I can’t afford but love to look at, and also some fun toys like these ladybug stilts and this super cute pink and orange stripe teepee.

Of course as has been discussed, teepee’s aren’t too hard to make on your own, here is a pattern from Butterick.
I love Corey Lynne Calter. Look at this dress, green patent belt, it is adorable.

I have been searching high and low for the perfect wedding earing to no avail. A few weeks ago my friend Cathy (hi Cathy) mentioned Roberta Chiarella. Roberta’s jewelry is not only big and glamorous but its also really reasonable. For the reception I want something made of big statementy crystals and Roberta has tons of options. Here are a few of my favorites. Feel free to let me know what you think of them! The No More Tears earrings are $158 and are 3″ long mking them the longest of my options, which I consider a good thing. The Rocky Road earrings are $98. They’re only 1.25″ but aren’t they pretty? These Super Emerald CZs are a full 54 carats of faux goodness for $120 and are also 1.25″. And my last options are these mosaic crystal flower earrings (in clear, sorry they were only pictured in brown) for $198. These are 2″ long. Help me people, I can’t decide!
