Happy Tax Day

April 15th, 2010

We’re not ignoring you.  CountryMouse is very busy with selling her home and I’ve been busy with tax season.  We’ll be back tomorrow!

Happy Easter!

Jelly Donuts. yum!

Happy Easter!  We’ve had a busy Easter Sunday.  The CountryMouse clan came for brunch and I made jelly donuts in the super cute mini fryolator we got as a wedding gift.  You may not have been aware that a deep fryer could be cute but I assure you this one is.  Anyway, homemade donts are everything you might imagine and maybe evenmore.  Here’s the recipe if you’re interested.  I used raspberry jam, mmmmmm.  They were a little time consuming but very easy to make.

Moving Announcements, and Moving

Weve Moved, Come Visit (5-pack)

Hi Everybody, I have been looking through etsy for some good moving cards.  We did not send Christmas cards this year, and as that yearly mail job is my main way of organizing the old contact list and staying in touch with friends and family afar, I am determined to send moving announcements later this spring, because, drums, the CountryMouse family is moving!  To New York! City!  It’s this whole other state.  Actually we are moving to Brooklyn.  Mr. Countrymouse, bless his heart, has taken a position as a real live law professor and we are moving!  Those of you who know Mr. CountryMouse (or have  spoken to me for more than 10 minutes over the last 5 years) know that this has been an aspiration of his for a long, long time.  So good job having that big brain, honey!

There has been some querys about a countrymouse living in Brooklyn.  The truth is I don’t currently live in the country, I just love glazed chintz very, very much.  I actually live in a relatively urban suburb.  Anyway don’t worry guys I will go on loving gingham, raffia and chain stores just as much as ever in the big city.

So here are the moving announcements I have my eye on.  I may also do a picture of babymouse in front of our new place, since I failed to send a chrismas picture like a terrible mother.

The “we’ve moved come visit” cards above from kmcalligraphy is good for us because they are cute of couse and also we have never lived outside of Massachusetts before so we are hoping people visiting us liberally from the homeland.

We've Moved (Set of 8)

These are from aripress, and are similar, I like the fill in the blank aspect, always nice to get some personal labor involved.

Of course there is always Iomoi if you like things to be  painfully good looking.  This tassle design is good and of course the various animals wearing formal wear and hanging from chandeliers can be customized as a moving annoucement.

Moving Announcements - Truck

These are good because they have a little perforated business card that detaches, rather than just a card that hangs on the fridge for a couple weeks and is thrown out- I mean nicely filed away!

Happy Moving Day Cards

This super pretty one looks like a placemat and is my current favorite.

So, A Guy Walks Into a Bar….

January 6th, 2010

I’m not really one for jokes or for forwarding things along.  To be honest even office wide emails that make attempts at humor make me uncomfortable.  So, I’m really going out on a limb with this.  But say its a Wednesday night and you’re bored.  Then give this a try.  Don’t give up if you get a busy signal.  Call the Nestle Crunch Hotline: 800-295-0051. When you hear the prompts to continue in english or spanish, wait quietly for about 10 seconds…listen carefully!……..Keep going and press 4. Listen to the options (TWICE)….then press 7.  You’ll thank me the next time you come in contact with a member of the opposite sex and don’t know what to do.

Miss Us?

Hold Please

December 18th, 2009

Hi Everybody;  You’ll be happy to know that CityMouse and I are still alive and kicking.  I have been performing some majorly time consuming and life altering duties recently (good ones), the results of which will be announced at a later date, and which are exciting but have robbed me of all time or will to shop online.  Seriously I haven’t even ordered my holiday cards and I have a three year old relatives are clamoring to see.  Clearly I have no business having a blog right now.   So we decided to take a hiatus for the holidays.  Oh and if you miss us terribly we are doing a guest post over at Prada on December 22.  Oh my gosh I just went over there and Karen’s guest post series looks so great! Anyhoo Happy Holidays and our very best to you and yours! See you Soon!

I know it seems like my wedding was a million years ago, so it might seem strange but tomorrow we’re actually leaving on our honeymoon!  We’ll be on safari and touring the wine country of South Africa for the next two weeks.  In the meantime CountryMouse will be holding the fort down here.  I’ll try to stop by occassionally to discuss the merits of various forms of insect repellant and to update you on my attempts to bring a zebra skin rug back into the states.  BTW, the images above are not actually from my honeymoon they are a few of the many new and adorable stationary designs available at Iomoi

Hi Gang.  Guess what.  It’s happening!  CityMouse is getting married in two short days!!  I can’t believe the time has finally come.  Anyway she is off being a calm and gracious bride, and I will be consumed with my bridesmaid duties, so we’ll be back next week!  We’ll have lots of pictures to share because it is going to be a super fun party! and maybe the prettiest wedding ever.  Definitely with the cutest ring bearer ever.  I’m just saying.  Hey there Paul.

A Temporary Ode to J.Crew

September 2nd, 2009

Dear J.Crew,

I still love you and have not forgotten about you this month.  Its just that between my dance classes at Arthur Murray, the constant workouts and all that time spent thinking about food I’m not allowed to eat I have not yet had time to compose an appropriate Ode.  I do apologize and promise to return tomorrow with something more suitable.  I hope you’ll forgive me.

 Love,

CityMouse
