You had Me at Double Kiltie Moc
Well here it is the cusp of high summer so of course I am thinking about fall clothes, my favorites. I love summer and all, but mainly because hanging around outside eating out of a cooler all day is not only accepted, but expected, not for the clothes. How many sundresses can one own. Ok a lot, but I have popsicle stains on every single one of mine. What really excites me is something like a wool pencil skirt and tights. oooo. I was thinking of getting some super shiny penny loafers this fall to wear with skirts. Oh I should mention that I’ve left my firm job and come fall will be a stay at home mother, and will be moving from Boston to New York, another wool tights-appropriate town thank goodness. So I can’t wear pumps every day as I have in the past, but still want to wear all my skirts. I don’t really like that brogue thing so I was thinking loafers. I was so pleased to see that G.H.Bass has had a little update (or at least “up” to me) and they have some CUTE shoes for the bookish, like these Beacon Hill loafers, which I will be ordering definitely in “dune” (above) and maybe also navy. They are only 65$! I think these will be better than my original idea because a traditional penny loafer may come off as frumpy rather than bookish, a fine line. The Beacon Hill is also suitable for “slacks” according to the description, so thanks for that.
P.S. The Bass site is like a tour of my childhood feet right now, check out these heeled saddleshoes. Maybe not for everyone but I think they are pretty adorable.

Guess how much this black maxi sundress costs? Fifteen dollars. Yes Fifteen dollars. That is a one and a five. The shipping is $0.97! How can this be? I don’t know and I don’t care. This is from the Norma Kamali line at Walmart which is pretty awesome all around I think.

This morning was spring cleaning day in my closet. I tend to live in white t-shirts when I’m not at the office and due to excessive clumbsiness combines with perspiration my T’s don’t tend to survive longer than a year even with regular bleaching. So once a year I purge all white t-shirts and order a fresh set. My favorits are the Mossimo Black Label from Target and these Gap Favorite T’s with Stretch. The Mossimo T’s were sold out in my size already but fear not because the Gap T’s were on sale for $5.99. I ordered 5, hope that’s enough. And now that I’m done with that its time to head outside to enjoy the day.

Is it wrong for me to want to but a perfume I’ve never smelled based solely on it pinkness and shininess? I realize its probably idiotic but the sparkly glam of this bottle is really sucking me in. I’m like a human fish. So I will be waking up early tomorrow and rushing to Macy’s (ok, walking slowly its only 2 blocks) to smell and hopefully fall in love with Very Hollywood by Michael Kors. True, the name is kinda lame. But what if your first name were Holly? Mine isn’t, mine is City. That was purely conjecture. Anywho, is it wrong to but perfume just for its looks? How is this different than buying bathroom art? At $65 its way chaper than a painting, and its shinier!

I saw these super cute nutcase bike helmets on DailyCandy today and it turns out our pal Sassafrass just bought one. Now if only she had bike! As a fellow daydreamer of bike ownership I have my eye on this striped helmet. Its just $50. And according to Sass it loudly proclaims that “i love my brain” on both the backside and the inside. Sweet.

Dear Target,
I live in Boston. We’re not New York but most people have heard of us. In fact, we’re approximately 200 times the size of Biddeford, Maine. Why Biddeford? Well, that’s where I’ll be driving tomorrow to by my Cynthia Vincent for Target Gladiators because you seem to have sent the same number of these sandals to Biddeford as you sent here. So my options are to wake up early tomorrow and haul my cookies to Maine or to pay double for the shoes on Ebay. As an honorary yankee option B in out. So if you need anything from Maine (jame store?) tomorrow please let me know. And in the future Target please produce more of the highly coveted lines so that we city folk stand a snowballs chance in hell of getting them.
Love,
CityMouse
P.S. Zac Posen for Target launches this Sunday. Hmmm, maybe I should stay in Maine for the weekend.

Sorry if the title of this post was misleading Mom, I’m not pregnant. But some of our reader are and this one is for you! CountryMouse has previously posted about the Norma Kamali all-in-one dress from Walmart. It was also featured on the Today Show this week. But did you know that it is also available as a maternity dress??? Even better, its just $14. That’s $14 for 5 different dresses. That’s such a good deal it almost makes me wnat to get pregnant. Almost. Again, sorry Mom. Preggos, please also check out this dress from Norma. That one is so cute that I may just order it and hide it away for a few years.

I have bird legs. Its not something I’m proud of, just a fact. Because of the little twigs that hold me up I thought skinny jeans seemed like a great idea. The problem is that I do not have a bird stomach. Quite the opposite really. And skinny jeans are not just skinny in the legs, they assume you have an equally thin gut. So I’ve recently been considering denim leggings. This is a concept that I want to hate but am intrigued by. I’m considering a kind of pricey pair of 7s becuse the reviews are so good. Oh, and Rachel Zoe like the, so clearly they are awesome. Right? They’re $149 and I am currently accepting input on them. I’d also be willing to consider this far less expensive pair from Victoria’s Secret. I typically think their clothes are a bit trashy but this is a post about denim leggings. *Ring Ring* Pot. Kettle. Black.
