Smug

Are you there blog? it’s me Countrymouse. sorry about that everyone! for the lack of posts as well as the terrible judy blume reference.
Normally I try to never like appliances because the always seem to cost a minimum of five thousand dollars whenever I do. Imagine my shock and thrill when it was pointed out on Apartment Therapy recently that the cutest fridge of all, in my opinon, is only $1700! I know, that is a lot of money. But it’s not nearly as much as those big metal nest egg eaters. Also they say SMEG on the front and are, as I mentioned, adorable. Also I’m almost positive they keep food cold. Did you further know you can purchase a SMEG fridge at Sears? I felt certain I was going to have to search all over for stockists.

Hi All! Here’s our first wedding photo. A little too ironic, and yeah I really do think. More to come when we get them back from the professional photgrapher.

I am using the blog for a gratuitous shoutout to the incredibly talented calligrapher, Tara Jones, who did all of the envelopes and table numbers for our wedding. Our envelopes were so gorgeous that some people who had previously planned not to attend are now attending!!! For real! I just hope that the actual wedding and ceremony can live up to the calligraphy. Not only is Tara unbelievably talented but she also happens to be incredibly nice and helpful (she’s Southern). I could not recommend her more. And with such reasonable prices, you don’t need a major occasion like a wedding. You could have her address your Christmas and thank you cards too! Oooo, good idea.

I love the mother daughter team over at Old Soul, New Heart. They make adorable retro inspired accessories and also seem pretty darn witty too. Each piece perfectly describes its ideal wearer. The headband shown above, She Gossips, But Quietly would be ideal for me and it’s only $32. I’m generally known for my voice modulation problem but I do manage to take it down several notches when gossiping!

We recently got the devastating news that the table cloths for our bar and DJ tables might be… white! The horror. In an attempt to stave off a nervous breakdown I went looking for some inexpensive ways to make those tables a lot more colorful. Cue Ana’s Candles. These triped candles are adorable! A pair of 14″ tapers is $23. Much less expensive than flowers.

We’re back! I think it was overly ambitious for us to think we would return on Sunday. What kind of bachelorette/shower weekend would it have been if we were up and blogging bright and early on Sunday? And speaking of showers, I found this gorgeous lotus nesting bowl set from Koo de Kir thanks to Erin at Elements of Style. As Erin suggests, this would make a really wonderful shower or house warming gift (or a gift to thank bridesmaids for a wonderful shower). Its really functional art. This would look great as a dining room table centerpiece. Its so pretty that I wonder if I’d ever actually use it for mixing things. The set is $95. Expensive for bowls but quite reasonable for sculpture!

I have been searching high a low for an affordable hot pink wrap for my bridesmaids. Its outrageous how much some stores want for what is essentially a lerge square of fabric. So, I finally decided to check Target (sorry girls, I promise this isn’t your only gift) and they have very cute wraps for only $12.99. They’re also on the smaller side so that they can be worn as scarves post-wedding. I’m all about being able to re-purpose wedding items.
Filed under BourgeoisBride, BourgeoisStyle | Comments (3)Posted by: CityMouseI have been searching high and low for the perfect wedding earing to no avail. A few weeks ago my friend Cathy (hi Cathy) mentioned Roberta Chiarella. Roberta’s jewelry is not only big and glamorous but its also really reasonable. For the reception I want something made of big statementy crystals and Roberta has tons of options. Here are a few of my favorites. Feel free to let me know what you think of them! The No More Tears earrings are $158 and are 3″ long mking them the longest of my options, which I consider a good thing. The Rocky Road earrings are $98. They’re only 1.25″ but aren’t they pretty? These Super Emerald CZs are a full 54 carats of faux goodness for $120 and are also 1.25″. And my last options are these mosaic crystal flower earrings (in clear, sorry they were only pictured in brown) for $198. These are 2″ long. Help me people, I can’t decide!

Hi! I’m taking a quick poll to pick rehearsal dinner invitaions. Please let me know which of these two options you prefer. They have a little bit of a safari theme because we’re going on safari for our honeymoon.

You may have noticed Mary Jane of the Month has had a hiatus lately, mainly because I haven’t seen any really and truly exciting Mary Janes. To be honest I have an enduring love of even of the most boring of the boring mary janes, but I get that matte black leather single strap mary janes from Enzo aren’t really exciting. But these bright blue bow Mary Janes are nothing of not exciting! I know you wouldn’t go wearing these every day, but they would be good to cute-ify a plain outfit, or to wear to easter, or as a quirky ‘ something blue’ bridal shoe. They are on sale for $79 at Nordstrom, down from $150.
